Extended System Configuration Data (ESCD)
If the BIOS does support PnP, the startup program stores Extended System Configuration Data
( ESCD ) in CMOS. ESCD defines the system resource assignments of PnP devices. ESCD also serves as a communications link between the BIOS and the operating system for the PnP devices.
